Adidas Blue Collection Look Book Autumn Winter 2012

The Blue collection is a new sibling to the Adidas Original range which features a more tailored look and feel to it’s older brother. Whilst the branding may be subtle, the Blue collection definitely has DNA traits from the trefoil and the collection is made up from premium line-up chic separates for the style conscious.

For Fall/Winter 2012, the Blue design team worked between Herzogenaurach, Germany (hometown of adidas) and Tokyo, Japan, and drew inspiration from the chic simplicity of British sartorial heritage, as well as motorcycle culture, to combine class with attitude and edge. The Blue designers injected traditional British sensibility with Originals DNA, mixing up familiar fabrics like corduroy and tweed, with modern takes of classic hunting details to create a contemporary outdoor look.

Aside from taking cues from British heritage, the Blue collection also draws on motorcycle culture to give iconic Originals looks a rock and roll vibe. French terry, flannel chambray and woolen knits are indigo dyed, and Navajo pattern gets rough with leather inserts and decorative lacing.

The same sensibility finds its way onto footwear, where the designers dipped into the Originals 90s archive to pull out silhouettes as well as inspiration for new shapes.
