Nike Mag 2011
The 2011 Nike MAG’s are an exact replica of the sneakers that Michael J. Fox wore in 1988’s Back to the Future II and they were announced last night by Fox himself on the David Letterman show in the US. On the very same evening an auction took place at the Ricardo Montablan Theater in Hollywood which was hosted by Joel McHale and attended by Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) and director Bob Zemeckis, where the first pair of MAGs went under the hammer and fetched $37,500- the lucky winner was non other than Tinnie Tempah.
Nike are producing 1500 pairs of MAGS which will go under the hammer on eBay at the rate of 150 pairs for the next ten days and all the proceeds from the sales are going to Michael J. Fox’s Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, furthermore Fox has confirmed that co-founder of Google Sergey Brin is going to match up to $50 million of the proceeds raised through 2012 for research.
