Converse Jack Purcell Ltt Oxford
Badminton kingpin Jack Purcell was good. So good in fact, that onetime tire company B.F. Goodrich gave him a signature shoe back in the mid ’30s. His iconic design, with it’s forefoot ‘smile’, transcended Jack’s career post-retirement, becoming a performance tennis piece too, and Converse snapped up the rights to make the shoe in the ’70s. It’s another classic that refuses to age — even that smooth, court-friendly outsole is instantly recognizable.
